StreamDecoded publishes guides about TV shows on streaming services. This page explains how we research, write, and check what we publish.
How we research
- Some of our coverage draws on first-hand viewing; when an article does, it says so in the text. Episode counts and runtimes in our guides are read directly from the streamers’ own title pages, not estimated from a typical episode length.
- Our “is it worth watching” reviews are critic-and-audience roundups: we synthesize what professional critics and viewers have said, with every source linked, rather than presenting one personal viewing as the final verdict. Each review says so in its opening lines.
- Factual claims (release dates, cast, plot points, real events behind a story) are checked against primary or reputable sources, such as a streamer’s official site, a studio press release, a creator interview, or established outlets.
- When a claim comes from a specific source, we link to it in the article.
- If we cannot verify a detail, we either leave it out or clearly mark it as unconfirmed.
Spoilers
Some of our guides, especially “ending explained” pieces, discuss endings in full. Those articles carry a spoiler warning near the top.
Sensitive subjects
When a show deals with real tragedy, crime, violence, minors, or illness, we cover it in a measured, respectful tone and avoid sensational or graphic detail. We do not name private individuals connected to real crimes.
Use of AI tools
We use software tools to help with research, drafting, and image preparation. Every article is reviewed by a human editor before it is published, and the editor is responsible for its accuracy and tone. Each show-focused article includes one promotional still sourced from the official streamer, studio, broadcaster, or rights holder, with the provider credited in the caption. Other images are licensed stock photography or original AI-generated illustrations. We do not use trailer screenshots, fan reposts, paparazzi photos, or unlicensed wire-service images, and our AI illustrations do not reproduce the likeness of real actors.
Independence
Our recommendations reflect our own opinion of the shows. Advertising and any affiliate relationships never determine what we cover or how we rate it. See our Ad & Affiliate Disclosure.
